- Homepage title is just the business name, so it can’t rank for metal roofing kingston.
- One page covers eight towns, so it ranks in none of them.

One scorecard. Before we start, and every month after.
Nine areas, scored out of 100. Not every area applies to every business — which ones count, and how much, depends on whether you sell locally, online, or both.
Local presence
Your Google profile — categories, services, hours, photos and review replies — plus the business details and location markup on your own site. For a local business, this decides whether you show on the map at all.Technical health
Broken pages, redirects, duplicate URLs, and whether search engines and AI crawlers can reach what matters.Titles & descriptions
What shows in the search result. Most sites waste it on the business name.Links from other sites
Suppliers, associations and local sites pointing to you, and whether that number is growing.Product and collection pages
Whether each collection and product page is written for what people search, rather than repeating the supplier’s description.Page content
Whether each service, town or product collection has a page that answers what people actually search.Search footprint
What you already rank for, and which searches are close enough to push onto page one.Speed on a phone
How fast your pages load and settle on a mid-range phone with two bars of signal.Brand presence
Your product feed and brand markup, and what a search for your own name brings back.Every scorecard is out of 100. Which areas count, and how much, depends on whether you’re a local business, an online store, or both. Yours says which was used.
Free fixes first. New pages after.
The order matters. There’s no point writing new pages for a site search engines can’t read properly.
- STEP 01
Access and a baseline
I connect Search Console and Analytics, record where you stand today, and start tracking calls and form fills.
- STEP 02
Make everything agree
Your name, address, hours and services match across your site and your Google profile. Broken links and dead pages get fixed.
- STEP 03
Titles, descriptions and structure
Every important page gets a title that names what you sell and where. Business details are marked up so search engines and AI assistants can read them.
Usually done in the first month - STEP 04
Pages for the work you want
A page for each service, town or collection you want business from, written to answer what people search.
- STEP 05
Push what’s close
Searches sitting on page two get stronger content and internal links to move them up.
- STEP 06
Keep it growing
New pages, review replies, and links from suppliers and local sites, every month after. Scorecard on the first of the month.
Three kinds of business, one approach.
Local businesses
Most of your calls start in the Google map. I work the profile first: the right categories, every service listed with a price, fresh photos, and replies to every review.
SEO in KingstonShopify stores
Collections with no copy, product titles written for a supplier’s catalogue, and duplicate URLs are where most stores leak. I fix all three for client stores and my own.
SEO for Shopify storesAI assistants
More customers ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI who to call. They name businesses whose sites plainly state hours, service areas and prices, and whose sites their crawlers are allowed to read. I check both, every month.
Four ways in. No setup fee on any of them.
Prices in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. Each monthly plan includes everything in the one above it.
AI visibility audit
A one-time, in-depth look at how search engines and AI assistants see your business. Good if you’d like to make the fixes yourself.- Full 100-point scorecard
- Which AI crawlers your site allows or blocks
- Whether your pages can be read without JavaScript
- A researched set of customer questions run through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI
- A written fix list, in priority order
Essentials
For a business that wants its existing pages working harder before adding anything new.- Two existing pages improved every month, picked from the searches you’re closest to winning
- New titles, headings, answers and internal links on each one
- Google Business Profile kept current, with review replies
- Technical fixes found in the monthly check
- Monthly scorecard and AI visibility check
Local SEO
For a local business ready to reach the searches its current pages can’t.- Four existing pages improved each month, instead of two
- One new service or town page every month
- Two Google posts a month, review replies within one business day
- Structured data on every key page
- Business listings and directory cleanup
- A live dashboard of calls, forms and rankings
Store SEO
For Shopify stores and businesses with many services or locations.- Collection and product page copy, several a month
- Duplicate URL and theme speed work
- Links from suppliers, dealers and associations
- A 30-minute call each month
Building a new website? The Pro website plan includes Local SEO for $749 a month, because optimizing a site I built is less work than fixing one I didn’t. The audit credit applies to the first monthly invoice only, up to that month’s fee, if a plan starts within 60 days of the audit. An improved page means an existing page reworked for the searches it should win; a new page is up to about 800 words. Google Ads management is available at a flat monthly fee, not a percentage of spend.
Five things in the agreement.
Clauses in what you sign, not lines on a sales page.
No ranking promises
I make your business easy for search engines and AI assistants to read and worth showing. Nobody controls what they choose to show, so anyone guaranteeing a position is overpromising.
Your accounts stay yours
Search Console, Analytics, your Google profile and your website stay in your name. I work with access you give me and can take away any day.
Ninety days, then thirty days’ notice
Give it the first three months, because that’s how long search takes to respond. After that, either of us can end it with thirty days’ notice.
A scorecard every month
The same 100-point scorecard you got for free, every month, so you can see exactly what I’ve moved and what I haven’t.
One business per trade, per area
On Local and Store, and on the Growth and Pro website plans, I won’t work for a competitor whose service area overlaps yours. On Essentials and Foundation, you’re never dropped: if a competitor in your area asks for an exclusive plan, you hear about it first and get 14 days to upgrade and keep the spot to yourself. If you’d rather stay on Essentials, you stay, and I can take them on. Your trade and area are written into your agreement, so there’s no guessing later. For a store with a physical location, the area is the metro around it. Online-only stores don’t get a geographic spot, but I’ll tell you before I take on another store selling similar products.
Fair enough.
How long before I see results?
Fixes to your Google profile and page titles can show within a few weeks. New pages usually take two to four months to settle into search. The monthly scorecard shows what moved and what didn’t, so you’re never guessing.
Can you guarantee a ranking?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google and AI assistants decide what they show. I control whether your site is easy for them to read and worth showing, and I report honestly on what happens.
Do I have to switch websites?
No. I work on the site you already have, whether it runs on Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix or something custom. Switching is never a condition. If I ever think your platform is holding you back, I’ll show you why and the decision stays yours.
Do you work on Shopify stores?
Yes. I manage SEO for client Shopify stores as well as my own two, and I build Shopify apps. Collections, product pages, theme speed and duplicate URLs are day-to-day work.
What do you need from me?
Access to your website, Google Search Console, Google Analytics and your Google Business Profile. I send a short checklist on day one. Every account stays in your name.
How does the AI visibility check work?
It starts with research. I build a question set from your Search Console data, keyword research, your services and service area, and the questions competitors are being named for. Each month that set runs through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews, and I record whether you’re named, who is named instead, and which sources the answers cite. The set evolves. New questions are tested each month based on the searches currently bringing people to your site, and ones that stop mattering are retired. You see the results question by question, month over month.
Will you work for my competitor?
Not on an exclusive plan. Local and Store SEO, and the Growth and Pro website plans, get one spot per trade per area. Both are written into your agreement: your main service, and either the towns you serve or, for a store with a physical location, the metro around it. Essentials and Foundation clients are never dropped for a competitor. You’d hear first and get 14 days to decide whether to upgrade and keep the spot.
I only sell online. How does exclusivity work?
Online stores compete across the whole country, so there is no local spot to hold. Instead, I’ll tell you before I take on another store selling similar products, and your data, reports and plans are never shared with another client. If you also have a showroom or install bay, that location gets the same local exclusivity as any other business.
Can I stop?
Yes. After the first 90 days it’s 30 days’ notice from either side. Every change I made stays on your site.
Send me your website. Get a score out of 100.
Free, done by hand, and yours to keep whether or not you hire me. You’ll know exactly what’s holding your site back.
